USD 501’s new school bus service brings in the new buses
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – The start of the school year is about two months away and Topeka Pubic Schools is getting their new bus provider ready for the year. The new buses are Topeka West High School, preparing for August.
In January, the USD 501 school board voted to approve Kansas Central School bus as the district’s new provider, replacing Durham School Services.
The vote cam after many reported incidents involving Durham drivers, including a driver going the wrong way and missing stops as well as a mom claiming her deaf child was left on a Durham bus the entire day.
Kansas Central is part of North American Central School Bus, which is based out of Joliet, Illinois.
