Joseph  “Joey” Garth

Joey serves as the President of NJ Deaf News, Inc.  

He grew up in New York City and graduated from Lexington School for the Deaf.  Joey worked for Avaya, Inc. in Basking Ridge as the Treasury Manager for cash management and retired from Avaya after 37.5 years of service.

Joey was also an active member and served on the board for many years of the Northwest Jersey Association of the Deaf, a nonprofit organization.

Kevin Mona

Kevin serves as the Vice President of NJ Deaf News, Inc.

Kevin graduated from the New Jersey School for the Deaf having attended there from nursery school through high school. He has worked for the US Postal Service since 1984.  He also worked part time for several years in a group home setting with Deaf adults.

Kevin has been an active volunteer in the Deaf community for many years including Mark 7 camp, Greystone Hospital, as well as serving on the board of the Northwest Jersey Association of the Deaf

Tom Montemorano

Tom serves as the Treasurer of NJ Deaf News, Inc.

Tom graduated from the Rochester School for the Deaf in 1980 and from the National Technical Institute for the Deaf in 1984.  He has worked for AT&T since 1984.

Tom has been an active member and member of the board of the Northwest Jersey Association of the Deaf as well as a very active volunteer in the Deaf community

Wendy Ommundsen

Wendy services as the Journalist of NJ Deaf News, Inc.

Wendy graduated from Midland Park High School in 1989, where she served as President of JrNAD.  After attending Bergen Community College, Wendy became a paraprofessional and has worked in various schools with special needs children for Bergen County Special Services.

Wendy has been an active member of the North Jersey Community Center of the Deaf since 1990, is a proud mother of 3 children and an extremely proud grandmother of 2 grandchildren.

Susan J. Zupnik

Susan serves as the Media Communications of NJ Deaf News, Inc.

Susan graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Business Administration, minoring in Computer Science and Photo Market Management.  She worked for the Port Authority of NY & NJ as a system designer / transportation planning and analyst for 21 years.

Susan is actively involved in many organizations and serves on the Board of Directors for NJ Deaf Awareness Week, Inc. and the US Deaf Golf Association. She has also served as team director for the World Deaf Golf Championships.

Susan is an avid golfer and photographer in addition to enjoying traveling and exercise.
